As can be seen at first glance, the cooler does not protrude beyond the RAM module’s PCB, so you can expect normal DDR5 dimensions of 133.3 mm in terms of length.
At around 125 mm, the cooler itself is just long enough to cover the memory modules underneath, but does not take up any space beyond that. The modules are about 8.4 mm thick, which is rather uninteresting for compatibility, but it gives us hope for a good cooling performance.
The modules measure approx. 43 mm in height including the DIMM contacts and approx. 40 mm then from the upper edge of the DIMM slot. Thus, the Trident Z5 RGB modules are significantly higher than a DDR5 A0 reference module without a heatsink, but they are also still significantly lower than some competing models, which is of course a plus point for compatibility with CPU coolers.
Those who know G.Skill’s TridentZ DDR4 predecessor modules will quickly realize that the Trident Z5 is just a development evolution, in the best sense. The design gives the appearance of a long-standing compromise between high cooling performance, efficiently utilized installation space, stylish aesthetics and impressive RGB integration. Together with the choice of black and silver heatsinks, with and without RGB, the Trident Z5 modules should cut an excellent figure in almost any system.
RGB lighting
The illumination of the Trident Z5 RGB modules is extremely bright and powerful, with the 10 LEDs providing even illumination without light spots. Those who are already familiar with DDR4 RGB modules from G.Skill will also feel at home with the new DDR5 edition. Of course, the color scheme can be configured as desired with G.Skill’s software or that of motherboard manufacturers.
The whole thing is now available again as a few still shots to browse through.
