Optics and haptics
As you can see, I have the matte white version here, which is almost exactly the shade of my photo background. Also in real life, the keyboard is really pure white with no color cast in any particular direction.
In any case, the keyboard does not lack non-slip rubber pads, and the palm rest in particular is well equipped. The keyboard’s exterior is kept simple for the most part, and the body is also quite compact. Interestingly, the USB Type-C port is not in the center, but slightly offset to the left. Depending on the desk situation, this could turn out to be an advantage or disadvantage. For myself, it fit quite well.
Also somewhat unusual is the position of the volume control on the left side of the keyboard, usually it is on the right. The three function keys are also located on the left side of the keyboard’s casing, whereas the right side is completely blank.
Thanks to the two nesting stands, the keyboard can be adjusted to a total of three different angles.
By the way, the ends of the feet are also rubberized for a perfect grip even in an angled position to somewhat compensate for the omission of the rubber pads.
Even if the look of the top side suggests that it is made of plastic, it is actually aluminum, which gives the NZXT Function a valuable overall impression. Thanks to the respectable thickness, the keyboard is very rigid and stable. Even under strong pressure, it bends only minimally.
