Stress test
But that’s enough with the benchmarks and performance tests, let’s move on to measured temperatures and the noise during operation. I determine the sound level with a Voltcraft SL-200 meter at a distance of 40cm, which works in 125ms cycles in Lo mode. The room was measured at 33.4 dB(A), for the breakdown an external example table. Prime95 was again used to simulate maximum load.
The actual temperature peak (without delta to the room) is 72°C for this CPU after a few seconds, as soon as the fan follows, it settles down to about 65°C. I measured 37.5 dB(A) in idle in Windows, so the small fan remains quietly audible. Under load it was a maximum of 40.6 dB(A), which is clearly audible but not loud.
