In the first, deliberately picked out game, we see that the performance under Windows 11 is significantly better than under Windows 10 and that it does not matter whether the patch has already been made or not.
You can see especially in the FPS curves that they are completely different from the Windows 11 curves, while both Windows 11 curves are very similar.
The percentile curve also shows an interesting nuance that the 1% low from the bar chart cannot depict. Because at 99.9%, the value for the patched Windows 11 is once again significantly higher, which also speaks for a smoother scrolling.
This continues if you analyze the frame times as a percentage. Once again, it becomes clear that our metrics are worth their weight in gold, because they express more than 100 curve diagrams. Windows 11 with patch has by far the best frame times! Unfortunately, the cumulative FPS bar does not show exactly that.
But it gets even better! Let’s take a look at the variances, i.e. the frame time jumps, which can also be perceived as “hopping” or micro-stutters, even if the actual FPS look good. It wins Windows 11 with patch just ahead of 11 without and Windows 10.
I don’t want to withhold the two spikes in the frame time curve, which were unfortunately reproducible at the respective places.
