Software
While many shortcuts and also settings regarding the lighting can be controlled completely autonomously thanks to the FN button, the iTAKE Engine software from Thermaltake is required for the full range of functions. When I started the software for the first time, a firmware update of the keyboard was suggested to me, which was done within a few seconds.
The software is tidy and quite clearly designed and does not overwhelm you, as you are used to from many other RGB programs.
On the start page you will find an overview of the six profiles that can be stored on the internal memory of the keyboard. Of course, you can create as many profiles as you like, which you can then place on the corresponding memory positions of the keyboard. In the “Customize” tab, you can also assign macros or freely change key assignments.
The creation of macros is also kept very simple. You record your sequence of keystrokes, select the appropriate delay and save it – all as before.
The configuration of the lighting, on the other hand, is somewhat more extensive. First of all, you have the choice between the configuration of the keys and the LED ring that goes once around the entire keyboard.
For the modes themselves, you have the usual choice between static light, blinking, flashing, rainbow, etc. For some effects, you can also set up different zones, so that you can, for example, color the F keys differently than the letters.
In the TT Sync tab, you have the option to sync compatible devices from Thermaltake and Razer. Specifically, you will probably be able to set the order of the lighting effects here, which I unfortunately could not test due to lack of compatible devices.
The configuration options of the software are rather spartan. In addition to choosing the language and theme, you can turn the connection to Razer’s Chroma system on or off and log into Amazon’s Alexa system.
