As usual, we start our performance tests with the synthetic benchmarks Geekbench 3 in version 3.4.4 and the AIDA64 Cache and Memory Benchmark in version 6.33.5700. All tests were run 3 times each and then averaged. The “DDR4-” prefix has been omitted for better readability.
Since the sequential tests scale almost perfectly with the clock speed, it’s no surprise that the 5066c18 configuration reaches almost 75 GB/s, just behind the 4800c18 B-Die comparison config. And even on the AMD platform, the overclocked Crucial kit can keep up with the fastest kits tested so far.
In the write test, the ranking is almost identical to the read test, with the exception of the XMP Config on the Ryzen system, as here the automatic 1:2 mode becomes a bottleneck.
In Copy, the Crucial kit is first only on the AMD platform, while it slips just behind the two G.Skill comparison configs on the Intel side. The reason for this are the timing limitations of the motherboard described before, without which the 5066c18 would probably be at the top here as well.
In the latency test, the fastest Gear2 Config can even keep up with Gear1, only the Samsung B-Die based kit is even nimbler. On the AMD platform with generally higher latencies, the ratio is similar, with the 1:1 config also being only slightly faster than the fastest 1:2 config.
In the Geekbench 3 memory test as an indicator for performance in various disciplines, a clear advantage over the G.Skill DJR kit with almost 500 points ahead can now be seen, especially on the AMD platform. On the Intel platform, the Crucial kit again has to settle for third place due to BIOS limitations. With fully optimized timings, the 11000 point mark could undoubtedly be cracked with ease.
