Versions
Depending on your tastes, desires and available budget, Steelseries offers three different variants of the mouse. I have the Prime here, but there is also Prime+ as well as Prime Wireless to choose from.
Conveniently, there is also a comparison table:
However, it does not give much information about the exact differences between the sensors. So I created a matrix again from the given specifications myself:
Prime Series | TrueMove Pro | TrueMove Pro+ | TrueMove Air |
CPI | 100 – 18.000 | 100 – 18.000 | 100 – 18.000 |
IPS | 450 | 450 | 400 |
Acceleration | 50G | 50G | 40G |
And here, too, the differences are limited, so the obvious distinguishing features remain:
Prime – basic model
Prime+ – basic model with second sensor for better lift-off
Prime Wireless – basic model with slightly inferior sensor, but wireless
Since even the regular Prime Mouse is one of the more expensive models on the market, 140 Euros MSRP for a mouse is really astronomical. Whether the lift-off sensor or a wireless freedom are worth the extra cost is something everyone has to decide for themselves, but I tend to say “no, rather not”.
