Summary and conclusion

The Katar Pro XT leaves a positive impression. The Omron mouse buttons feel good, although I didn’t really feel anything from the new Quickstrike technology, which is spring-loaded mouse buttons with no gap between the button and the switch. Good workmanship paired with a paracord mouse cable and reliable sensor round out a respectable overall package.

There is actually nothing to criticize about the mouse itself and the bugs in the software can still be ironed out. The 18,000 DPI was more of a marketing gimmick for me, but a friend of mine swears by extremely high DPI settings with a very small multiplier in games. So it’s a matter of taste – as in most cases with peripherals! The target group is also clearly defined by the shape. Those who don’t have a Claw or Fingertip grip and aren’t integrated into the iCUE ecosystem can, for example, reach for a cheaper alternative with the Sharkoon Light² 100. The strong segmentation of Corsair’s own range also has the advantage that the targeted buyer group gets a mouse that is very well adapted to their needs at a moderate price.
