EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Superclocked
The rather inexpensive EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Superclocked uses the board of the reference design as a template, has a very compact cooler and can always score points when it comes to particularly small PCs or as cheap implementations as possible.
The map is surprisingly quiet and also trendy in terms of performance, but suffers somewhat from the lack of cooling in the area of voltage converters. However, the user could remedy the situation with just a few simple steps, especially since EVGA explicitly allows the coolers to be removed without losing a warranty.
EVGA has announced improvements – also in terms of semi-passive mode and the too high thresholds. The update service via the EVGA homepage is easy to use even for more inexperienced users, as EVGA offers its own flashing tool.
Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Phoenix GS
The Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Phoenix Golden Sample (GS) is quite short, but it is too much to recommend itself for ITX projects or small enclosures.
However, the still quite moderate weight and the low overhang make them particularly interesting for up-and-comers with simpler motherboards and smaller housings.
It is also a good compromise between performance and efficiency, as it is only five watts above Nvidia's Founders Edition in terms of power consumption, but it can keep the boost clock.
Only the incisions on the radiator make the map a little louder and also a little warmer than you might think because of the depth. It is not intrusively loud, but it is also not whisper-quiet.
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming
With the GeForce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming, Gigabyte is at the forefront of performance thanks to its factory-high boost clock rates and a high power target.
The map is surprisingly light, the size is rather average. This allows it to fit into almost any housing and also has sufficient cooling reserves if the airflow in the housing is not particularly optimal.
In the end, however, a whole two ground-and-on-ground heatpipes for heat absorption and removal are a little too little to make the card act absolutely quietly. But even here, even under full load, the card should only be easily heard from a closed housing.
inno3D GTX 1060 Gaming OC
The inno3D GTX 1060 Gaming OC is the typical butter and bread card from the manufacturer's portfolio.
It is of interest to price-conscious users who are not calibrated on LED fairy lights and other gaming attitudes, but rely on inner values and reason. In any case, the overclocked card, which is also overclocked ex works, offers a lot of this.
However, the very potent cooler should be braked a bit acoustically after installation in the form of its own fan curve, because the margin towards the really quiet card is large enough. Here, too much is simply cooled, which is unfortunately measurable and audible.
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G
The MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G is not really a bad graphics card, which can score above all with its solid, confident cooling. The installed chip would probably be able to cope in the end, but the memory with three gigabytes only very tight is hardly sufficient when it comes to higher requirements.
With the GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G, MSI has probably made the most of this constellation; For this, the manufacturer deserves a lot of praise from the technical point of view. However, we cannot recommend the card, because it simply does not offer enough future security for the price at the moment.
In the end, it is simply not a "real" GeForce GTX 1060, but rather a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or GeForce GTX 1060 Light. Unfortunately, for the uninformed customer, the different specifications are a difficult hurdle to see through.
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G
The GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6G from MSI is currently by far the quietest card in the test field and almost perfect.
The cooler of the GeForce GTX 1080 is really underwhelming, but in return in an almost inaudible appearance to the delight of every user quickly relativizes. The performance would have been big enough in gaming fashion to be at the forefront.
Nevertheless, we would like to leave it at this point only in the verbal evaluation, because to award an award for a card, which is again delivered with different BIOS variants for the press and the customers, contradicts our principles.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition
The GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition by Nvidia can certainly find friends in this version, because it doesn't get really loud even under load.
As a pure DHE solution (Direct Heat Exhaust), it is especially recommended for very poorly ventilated and ventilated housings or workstations.
However, a very tight power target, the simple 6-pin supply connection and the thermal limit are also good reasons to oppose manual overclocking.
In sum, the price of this reference card also seems to us to be a little too high.
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 SuperJetstream
The Palit GeForce GTX 1060 SuperJetstream is short, but needs a full three slots when you install this card in the computer. For this, it fits into almost any housing – unless you try on smaller ITX projects.
The card is a neat compromise between performance and efficiency, because the Founders Edition is easily surpassed in performance and the card also operates much quieter.
If you hadn't given up a real heat sink with encased heatpipes for cost reasons, the result could certainly look much better. The bottom line is that this card is a similar offering to the GeForce GTX 1060 Phoenix GS from the in-house gainward label, with which it shares all other components sisterly except for the radiator cover and fan.
PNY GeForce GTX 1060 XLR8 OC Gaming
Cost-effective does not have to be cheap. If it weren't for the overblown fan speeds in the idle and under load, we would even have given the card a buying tip. Small, cuddly and light, yet still much faster than Nidia's reference design – the world could have been so beautiful and simple.
Unfortunately, the fan curves cannot be bent under the minium set by the manufacturer, so that the two fans are clearly reminded of the cooling principle used, especially when idle.
It's a real pity, because it's actually a solid card that really doesn't have to hide from much more expensive competitor products. however, these criticisms can also be ennobled into a feature if you put this card in a small and poorly ventilated housing. The resemblance to the simply knitted SI products is certainly not entirely coincidental.
