Summary and conclusion
I guess you would have to compare the whole fan with the 3D construction drawing by means of an exact 3D scan to find out what went wrong with the first model. Of course, I’ll wait for the next fan. What I can confirm, however, is the fact that both the exterior and the design have (must have) changed. Otherwise it wouldn’t explain the so different weight. Most of the materials are also identical – except for the zinc sheet used. You can hardly see any color nuances either. And if it is, then it is probably best explained by the different age of the fans when they were purchased. The operating hours of all tested fans were roughly the same (low).
The performance has changed significantly. The significantly lower operating noise is completely acceptable, and the curves also look better. The new fan performs a bit worse at around 1000 rpm in terms of volume flow, but generally offers more pressure and also a lower noise emission in relation to the throughput. The visual distinctions I suspected, such as the very distinctive “fingerprints” at the hub base of both fans, are certainly still a certain feature, but can also be easily seen on the newer variant. If there also somewhat more reserved.
Be it as it may – I have supplemented the database by the current model and so we have just two models with the respective year to distinguish in the database. I ask all those who doubt our results to take note of this. Yes, there are still older fan measurements in the database that do not completely reflect the new accuracy of all results and that have been interpolated to allow a comparison. However, all new measurements have been checked completely and also several times for plausibility.
Also scripts and evaluations are possibly not yet error-free, therefore the marking as beta. If someone still has questions, or even found errors, he is welcome to contact us, we always try our best to become even better. Nobody is free of errors, neither the producers nor the testers or programmers. But almost everything can be solved or explained, like in this case.
