Hi,
I'm trying to load BIOS saved from XFX 6800 XT Merc 319 Superspeed model but when I try to load previously saved .rom the RBE says it's not supported.
The BIOS has around 1MB, not 512kb as in some cases.
Is this lack of support model specific? Can I do anything else to lower GPU power consumption?
The card reports around 120W consumption but it's really @ 220W at the wall (260-270 for whole system).
Any hint, tips will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
PS I used ATIFlash tool v 3.20 to extract the BIOS and also tried with GPU-Z latest version
I also tried the process with my other Sapphire 5700XT card without problem.

I think i've got the same problem. I've got the xfx 6900xt speedster merc 319. I've installed the latest morepowertool to adjust the voltage (min voltage 618 and maximum voltage to 1050, fo GFX and soc) those settings are working stable in my soft powerplay tables and the next step was making a proper bios.
I have extracted the bios with the latest GPU Z, but the latest red bios editor is unable to edit the file and add the .mpt values. I cant edit the name or anything. Also when im using amdvbflash 3.04+ it is complaining that the adapter can't be found. When I use the latest amdvbflash from techpowerup, the adapter is showing but its complaining that a "check" isnt working.
I've tried both versions in Windows, and linux, no luck.

attached is the unmodified bios if somebody wants to check if its different to others (bios switch closer to the displayports, away from the 8pin power connector). I think that is the balanced/OC bios and the other position is the low power bios.

Maybe. But As far as I know, there are ways to flash by hardware tools.
However, in the gaming and overclocking community I don't see reports with RBE flashed Radeon 6000 cards - as there is no reason why to do it, as SPPT is much simpler. But I don't know about the mining community.

This is what I mean:
