Auf Englisch, falls es jemand von denen mitlesen will:
If you, chipset manufacturer and you, main board maker, really want to promote "AI" enhancing mainboards, how about this: have 2-3 PCIe-5 and 2-3 PCIe-4 capable M.2 slots on your board. At least 2 of each PCIe Class should have 4 lanes each. This would enable your customers to install (add-in) dedicated AI hardware in those. For example, edge devices from Hailo, Coral, Axelera and others that are coming into the market. Those are often a lot faster (more TOPs) than what Qualcomm, AMD and Intel offer in their integrated NPUs, and they can even be more energy efficient. They can also support whatever Nvidia or AMD might have on offer. And those M.2 slots should be in addition to (not instead of !) the minimum of two or more fast M.2 slots with for fast SSDs*, and in addition to at least one 16 lane PCIe-5 slot . Make sure that there is enough good clean power, and design for good air flow. And integrate the networking hardware elsewhere, so the WiFi and LAN connector doesn't eat one of those M.2 slots. Is that a lot to design and figure out - yes. But you can do it, and those would be real AI capable mainboards.
*(LLMs and ML need lots of fast storage). And, as is often the case: if you build it, they will come. In this case also, more and faster devices to market.
